Two Real Madrid players
A heart-warming comedy by Leo Meier
Two men meet in the woods. Both are professional footballers and – as it transpires during their conversation – both play for Real Madrid. It seems only natural that the striker should invite the thoughtful midfielder to his parents’ home for Christmas. Who could have guessed that, amidst this festive tranquillity, the mother would die of an allergic shock? And that this would mark the beginning of a tender love story that could turn the (football) world on its head?
In Leo Meier’s play, professional footballers can confess their love for one another without causing a stir, and Sergio Ramos reflects on his own mortality. And all this with a calm matter-of-factness that, in reality, is unfortunately still anything but a matter of course.
