Buh!

Halloween is coming to Zurich's cultural landscape. A look at the upcoming, spooky cultural days for and by monsters big and small.

Creepy Kids

The current exhibition at Strauhof is dedicated to the "enfant terrible", i.e. the wild, anarchic or even evil child. But what about these children's books written by adults for children? Are the disturbing experiences and fascinating worlds in Struwwelpeter, Pinocchio or Pippi Longstocking places of longing or the culmination and projection surface of numerous fears? "Enfants terribles" sheds light on uncanny childhood imaginaries of the 19th and 20th centuries through numerous texts, illustrations and film sequences.

The Ghost Train into Exile

Halloween becomes "Trapoween": The EXIL becomes a ghost train and the spooky trap and new school hip-hop soundtrack is provided by DJ Amell (Paper Chase), DJ Briiight (Grizzly) and MC KdK. It's the perfect way to bounce through the spooky night.

Draw monsters

With a proven monster drawing specialist, children between the ages of 3 and 12 will create the scariest and cutest monsters they can imagine one day before Halloween. Monster expert and artist Nicolas Frey is looking forward to a visit to the Kunsthalle Zurich studio between 13.30 and 16.30.

Boo! and Boo!

If you want to get a classic scare, sink into your seat and occasionally scream with terror, visit the Xenix cinema on Halloween. Two real slasher classics are shown here: "Halloween" by John Carpenter (1978) and "Halloween III: Season of the Witch" by Tommy Lee Wallace (1982).

This evening runs under the motto "Double Feature": With the ticket of the first film and the Xenix ticket, you get a free entry to the second film.

Read Scary

Is the library haunted? To find out, the Pestalozzi Library in Zurich's Old Town invites you to the spookiest night of the year. And helps make the evening even spookier with scary stories, bloody fingers, magic potion and gruesome slime. Those who come dressed up get a surprise.
