On the road with Herrndorf's crazy Isa

A play like a fabulous poetic road movie: Theater Winkelwiese presents "Bilder deiner grossen Liebe" by Wolfgang Herrndorf.

Isa is "crazy, not stupid". That's why she runs away from the asylum. Her journey takes her into the forest, onto the water and into other people's houses and vehicles. But much more interesting than the places are the stories she ends up in.

Which parts of these stories Isa tells the audience actually happened, and what of it comes from her "crazy" head, can never really be grasped, but in the end it doesn't matter. You let her take you by the hand. When she makes the sun stand still with her thumbnail. When, eating a fried egg, she listens to the tragic life story of a former bank robber. When she shoots a pistol into the air - and the bullet falls back into the barrel with "millimetre precision".

Now, one could still note here that the unfinished and posthumously published novel "Bilder deiner grossen Liebe" is the sequel to Herrndorf's successful novel "Tschick". But even those who have never heard or read anything about "Tschick" and Isa will be able to dive headfirst into this piece. Johanna Köster and Urs Jucker ensure this with their direct and loving acting - and not least the playful and varied staging by director Fiona Schreier.
