Tips for live music in December

December is a quieter month in terms of concerts. Nevertheless, there are still opportunities to escape the contemplation.

Domi Chansorn

Who knows Domi Chansorn? That depends entirely on who you ask. In the world of Spotify, there are only a few (791 monthly listeners), but among Swiss musicians he is both a colourful dog and a highly esteemed colleague. The trained drummer has long been a multi-instrumentalist, singer and producer in one, playing and producing for Sophie Hunger, Bonaparte, Fai Baba and Evelinn Trouble. The latter is also part of the 14-piece troupe that Chansorn has put together for Carte Blanche at Moods. Two evenings in a row will celebrate togetherness and diversity under the title "The Astral Body", as the announcement states.

The Veils - Solo

Admittedly, I only noticed The Veils in passing for a long time. The band of British-New Zealand songwriter Finn Andrews played good, but not particularly exceptional Britrock in their early days 20 years ago. That has since changed: Andrews' work on recent albums has resulted in dense and complex songs that don't shy away from the depths of the self. It is only logical that his band made an appearance in the third season of the series "Twin Peaks". Things will be a little more tranquil in Bogen F, but certainly no less intense: Andrews will be presenting a solo show here.

Mehnersmoos

Not in the mood for Christmas contemplation? Then the Mehnersmoos concert at the Dynamo is probably just the thing for you. Borderline-demented and antisocial, they rap in the tradition of K.I.Z. - although: "that's not rap, that's bullying".

Sensu & Friends

When you listen to Sensu's tracks, you feel more like you're in London than in Switzerland. The Baden-born producer delivers a sound between drum'n'bass and garage that is right up to date. At the end of the year, she has invited her friends Yoshi San, Audio Dope and Cella & Dorian to Exil for live performances and DJ sets late into the night.

Den Begriff Kreislaufwirtschaft verwendet Rebekka erst seit kurzem, das Konzept dahinter versteht sie aber bereits seit Jahren. Bei Sebastian ist es umgekehrt.
