The Kulturmarkt is a unique cultural enterprise in Zurich's Kreis 3: an event house with a restaurant that offers job seekers a temporary work opportunity.
The Kulturmarkt hosts guest events, co-productions and in-house productions - primarily from the fields of theatre, dance and music.
The Kulturmarkt is located at the junction of Aemtlerstrasse and Kalkbreitestrasse in a listed building from the 1920s that belongs to the Reformed City Association. One wing houses the offices of the Kulturmarkt, the other wing houses the theatre hall with foyer and restaurant on the ground floor and the Zwinglikirche on the upper floor.
The Kulturmarkt rents out the theatre hall and foyer for public and private events as well as training rooms and rehearsal stage for meetings, workshops or rehearsals.
The restaurant, the foyer and the main hall are wheelchair-accessible. The wheelchair-accessible toilet is also located in the foyer.
To ensure that we can provide the mobile ramp in good time, please let us know in advance by email or by calling +41 44 457 10 60 from Mon-Fri 10:00-17:00.
On request, we can reserve a wheelchair parking space in our courtyard, if available. The course and office rooms in the listed Kulturmarkt are unfortunately not barrier-free.
Hearing and visually impaired people
are of course just as welcome here, even though as a small institution we cannot provide induction loops, translations into sign language or audio descriptions. However, please come to us at any time if we can support you during a visit with us.
Accompanying persons
of people with an impairment receive a free ticket for the respective performance.
