The Volkshochschule Zürich is Zurich's first provider of cultural and scientific general education for adults. founded in 1920, it offers a wide range of courses from astronomy to philosophy, from psychology to politics and literature, always at an academic level. Its second mainstay is foreign languages. The portfolio is supplemented with movement, design and communication offers. Since summer 2019, the VHSZH has also been offering a professional course in "Literary Writing" as well as smaller offers in the field of writing. The VHS Zurich is accessible to everyone and is financially self-supporting.
