Workshop: Autobiographical writing as a feminist practice
What role do the private and the personal play in feminism? And what happens when it is shared and read? The journalist Anna Dreussi invites you to spend a whole day exploring these questions and trying out autobiographical writing as a feminist practice.
The combination of theory and personal experience has a long history in feminist movements. Accordingly, the day will begin with a group reading and discussion of autobiographical texts. This exploration is intended to serve as inspiration for participants to write their own texts. Anna Dreussi will then guide the writing process and create space for individual work.
Anna Dreussi lives and works between Berlin and Zurich. Her reports and essays explore small, everyday occurrences that symbolise something greater. With her Republik article ‘Because I am a woman, these lines are political”, in which she writes about her experiences with personal texts, she has sparked numerous reactions.
