In the end, I could have kissed the hyena

“Come on, you can do it!” “What if I make a fool of myself?” “OK, now just close your eyes and get on with it!”

Does this sound familiar? We all have different inner voices: some offer reassurance, others put us under pressure. Still others seem loud, anxious or contradictory. What happens when we give these inner voices space?

During this interactive evening, psychologist Sebastian Ulbrich will demonstrate a special coaching method: In virtual reality, these so-called inner parts take on a visible form – as an animal, a figure or a symbol. Thus, a voice that seems threatening can suddenly become a hyena which, as the title suggests, you’d have loved to kiss by the end. Guided by the psychologist, it becomes clear, step by step, how inner dialogues change when all voices are heard and valued.

One member of the audience will have the opportunity this evening to work through a personal issue as part of a genuine live coaching session in the metaverse. You normally never get to see what happens in the virtual world – but this time, you can follow it live on a screen. These insights encourage you to perceive your own inner voices more consciously and with greater kindness.

Dr Sebastian Ulbrich conducts research and lectures in the field of organisational psychology. As an independent coach, he combines the so-called hypnosystemic coaching method with technology. The ‘Connection Mindset Coaching for the Metaverse’ approach he has developed combines insights from various disciplines to create new spaces for personal development.
