A raw material with great potential, yet one that has long been absent from agriculture: industrial hemp is making a slow comeback in Switzerland after bans and prejudices restricted its use for decades. ‘Hemp Without the High’ follows Swiss pioneers who want to demonstrate what this versatile plant is capable of today and why it is regarded as the raw material of the future. Hemp grows well in Swiss conditions, requires no pesticides and offers opportunities to conserve resources and strengthen natural cycles. Nevertheless, those who work with it repeatedly encounter legal hurdles and social reservations.
