The contemporary music scene in French-speaking Switzerland is vibrant, international and stylistically diverse – yet has so far been virtually absent from Zurich and German-speaking Switzerland. Sainte-Aube (Lausanne VD)

Sainte-Aube is an analogue-electro band from Lausanne, founded by Aurélia Ansermet and Betty Patural. Today, the project performs as a trio with a live drummer, thereby gaining a new, powerful physical dimension. Their sound combines analogue and modular synthesisers, expressive guitars, hypnotic beats and two distinctive voices, carried by French-language lyrics.
Following their first EP (December 2022), Sainte-Aube continues to evolve their sound towards a clearer, darker and resolutely electronic aesthetic. The trio formation amplifies the pulsating character of the music, lending it a raw, organic energy that bridges the gap between the club and the stage.
The second EP, ‘Rives’ – a three-part work due for release in spring 2026 – marks a new chapter in the band’s creative journey. Co-produced and mastered in Paris, ‘Rives’ combines sonic depth with emotional tension. Sainte-Aube operate at the intersection of intimacy and trance – intense, contemporary and unique.
Sainte-Aube play with contrasts: gentle voices, explosive solos, subtle lyrics and rousing beats. The lyrics are at the heart of the project – they denounce, question and challenge. Led by Aurélia and Betty, the band opens the door to a poetic universe somewhere between trip-hop, rock, pop and electro.
