Succulents - fascinating, flowering, thorny

The largest and most important collection of succulent plants in seven greenhouses, in cold frames, and a rockery under the open sky: over 4,400 different species from 79 plant families are cultivated here, which is between a third and half of all known succulent plants. A fascinating panoply of shapes and colours invites visitors to embark on a tour of discovery and wonder, all year round. A sense of detail and variety is sharpened.

Audio stations in English are recalling travel experiences of scientists and collectors of succulents from former times until the 20th century. Oversize books present basic information on important succulent plant groups, their regions of origin, and on selected phenomena.

A guide book to the collection is available in English.

All basic information in German, English, French, and Italian.
