Barbie dolls, chasubles, water pistols or birdcalls - no object seems too banal or too curious not to arouse the interest of a collector. Their motifs are as diverse as their collections. They passionately collect, hoard and organise everything from the smallest to the largest items. Collecting plays an important role because it saves things and their stories from oblivion and makes them available for research and the acquisition of knowledge. With a variety of objects of design and everyday culture as well as video portraits, the exhibition "Collectomania" interrogates the social and cultural value of their activity.
