Geneva saxophonist Nicolas Masson founded the quartet out of a single desire: to play together with Colin, Fabienne and Lionel. On the road together since 2008, their music has matured into a minimalist, acoustic sound. Fiery improvised impulses leap over the surface of deep water. Extensive sessions and many concerts together have resulted in two albums: Thrity Six Ghost (2010) and Travelers (2018). On ECM Records, notabene. John Kelman of All About Jazz says: "Travelers is another modern masterpiece for the label. Simply put, Travelers is an album not to be missed.
