The Zurich Archipelago – Recreating Common Grounds
An art festival in public spaces from June 6 – July 12, 2026, curated by Mirjam Varadinis
Cooking together, peeling potatoes, reading out loud to plants—and seeing monuments in a whole new light. This summer, artists from all over the world invite you to rediscover Zurich's urban spaces together.
"The Zurich Archipelago – Recreating Common Grounds" is a performative art festival in public spaces, curated by Mirjam Varadinis at the invitation of the City of Zurich’s Art in Public Spaces department (KiöR). It explores a pressing question: How can spaces be created that allow us to remember or reinvent what we have in common? Art has the potential to bring diverse people together. Spreading across several locations throughout the city like an archipelago of artistic "islands," the projects invite the public to become an active part of the artworks and a collaborative process.
Featuring works by Britto Arts Trust, Mirna Bamieh, Uriel Orlow, Akosua Viktoria Adu-Sanyah, Hulda Zwingli, Reto Pulfer, Marion Strunk, Sandra Knecht, and other artists. Find more information here.
We look forward to your visit!
