Summer solstice

21 June is already the longest day of the year! With 8 highlights of the next few months, a little preview even makes you want the year to move on.

At the beginning of July, CocoRosie, the two performance artists and sisters who like to incorporate influences from hip-hop, folk and opera into their pop songs, will be performing outside on the lake stage at the Rote Fabrik. And speaking of the Rote Fabrik, the Summer Camp will be taking place there throughout July, where the premises of the Rote Fabrik can be used to organise your own projects.

The theatre spectacle is of course also one of the highlights of the summer events in Zurich. Starting on 17 August, artists from all over the world will be performing outdoors on the Landiwiese for a good two weeks. And if you need a change of pace, just take the 15-minute train ride to Baden, because this year is Badenfahrt again - celebrating its 100th anniversary! In September, as every year, you can look forward to the Long Night of Zurich Museums . A great opportunity to spend the whole evening wandering around the city and exhibition hopping at an unusually late hour.

In October, the time will probably have come when indoor events will be the order of the day again. You can already look forward to Summer Pearl 's concert on 1 October at Moods. With her mix of jazz, soul, hip-hop and dub, the singer from London is reminiscent of Erykah Badu. Her sound is groovy with personal to political lyrics that get right under your skin. The three comedians Starbugs, who can be seen at the Theater am Hechtplatz, provide laughs in the cold November. Instead of clever wordplay, the three convince with witty, precisely timed performances to well-known songs - comedy of a somewhat different kind. And then there is the last month of the year: on 16 and 17 December, the black-and-white silent film The Artist will be shown at Theater Winterthur. The film from 2011 is set in Hollywood in the 1930s and celebrates the magic of silent film. It won five Oscars, one of them for best music. All the more reason to look forward to the live orchestra that accompanies the silent film.
