Cultural Advent calendar

A cultural surprise every day: the most popular classics for children and adults. And an interlude here and there.

If you fancy some spontaneous Christmas magic, all you have to do is go into the city. For example, take a stroll under the lights on Bahnhofstrasse. The Illuminarium in the courtyard of the National Museum puts on wonderful winter light shows to accompany a fondue and cocktails. The Christmas markets are a hive of activity with mulled wine and specialities from all over the world. The Advent concert "The Singing Christmas Tree" takes place daily on Werdmühleplatz and Bürkliplatz is the venue for the traditional candle-making event. A popular place to skate a few laps on the ice in a festive atmosphere is the Dolder artificial ice rink with a huge, lavishly decorated Christmas tree in the centre of the ice rink. We wish you a wonderful Advent!
